Disability Assessment Services
CAC successfully provide services for the Department Of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) nationally.
Assessment services include:
Supported Wage Assessments
Most Australians who have disability and participate in the open workforce do so at full rates of pay. However, there are some people who are unable to find or keep a job at full wage rates due to the effect of disability on their workplace productivity.
The Supported Wage System is a process that allows employers to pay less than the minimum wage by matching a person's productivity with a fair wage. With the Supported Wage System, eligible people with disability can access a reliable process of productivity based wage assessment to determine fair pay for fair work.
Ongoing Support Assessments
Ongoing Support Assessments (‘OSAs’) will independently assess the Ongoing Support needs of Participants. An OSA will be completed where a Program Provider identifies to DEEWR that a Participant is likely to need Ongoing Support in the workplace to retain their job. The Provider must undertake the OSA Assessment to ascertain the Participant’s Ongoing Support needs by:
a) Interviewing the Program Provider;
b) Interviewing the Participant;
c) Conducting a workplace assessment of the Participant and interviewing the Participant’s Employer, if consented to by the Participant; and
d) Reviewing relevant documents held by the Program Provider.
Work Place Modification assessments
The Workplace Modifications Scheme pays for the costs involved in modifying the workplace or purchasing special or adaptive equipment for eligible workers with disability. It is also available to existing workers if they have a change in duties, career progression, change in disability or a new modification becomes available that would increase their productivity. |
