Organisational Profile

Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Counselling Appraisal Consultants Pty Ltd (CAC) was established by co-directors Mandy Stone and Laurie Kaldor-Bull in 1995 to offer Occupational Rehabilitation services to clients in Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria. Our Team has experience/qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Vocational Placement, Occupational Health and Safety and Claims Management. CAC has developed a reputation for providing prompt, innovative and cost effective pre and post-claim injury management, occupational rehabilitation and counselling services for physical and psychological injuries.

CAC have three offices that are ideally placed to service metropolitan and regional areas. These offices are:

1. South Office – located in Brighton.
2. North East Office – located in Ivanhoe.
3. Geelong Office.

We also have an office in the Melbourne CBD that is used for assessments of injured workers who are unable to travel to one of our other offices.

In recognition of the need for a different personality and skill set to assist injured workers requiring job placement services, a specialist division called Job-Fast was formed within Counselling Appraisal Consultants in May 2001. Since that date, Job-Fast has achieved excellent placement results via initiatives such as the Job-Fast Job-Club that provides injured workers with intensive, in house, job seeking skills and assistance. Job-Fast services are available at all offices.

Areas of Expertise

CAC has an excellent track record of dealing with injured workers suffering from physical or psychological conditions. We are committed to providing innovative, prompt and cost effective occupational rehabilitation services.

We are also recognised for our success with stress claims and have developed a reputation for our approach to psychological injuries. CAC are committed to providing pre-claim and early intervention strategies geared to reduce the financial and human costs of workplace stress and injury. CAC has been involved in Employee Assistance Programs, providing counselling for clients where non-work related illness or injury is impacting on their ability to work.

Our Team of Occupational Therapists has had considerable experience with physical claims and providing cost effective and durable return to work outcomes. Our Occupational Therapists also provide Home, Work Site, Ergonomic and Functional Capacity Assessments and Manual Handling Training.

Aside from providing a specialised vocational service to injured workers, CAC is able to provide psychological testing for vocational purposes and outplacement counselling.

CAC has developed expertise in dealing with injuries and conditions in a variety of different industries with a variety of different causes. We have worked with employers of all sizes, from single person operations and family business’ to large Government Departments and National/Multi National Corporations. We have dealt with a wide range of workers from process and blue-collar workers to white-collar workers, managers and executives.

We understand the importance of being fully acquainted with the structure and culture of any organization to ensure each case is handled with appropriate sensitivity and professionalism. In addition, we tailor our approach so that our programs are suitable to the whole spectrum of occupations, from process workers with a non-English speaking background to senior executives/principals.
